And it is continuous learning at its best: Each session starts with a review of previous assignments. Learners move smoothly from one skill to the logical one, for 6 weeks of continuous learning.
Each session of Happy Mondays starts with a "Thought and Action" segment which is better than traditional ice-breakers. "Thought and Action" segments not just evoke thoughts but also engage participants in ways to move from idea to impact.
We learn from the best practices of America's leading organizations. For example, we've developed activities around the principles applied by the creative teams at Disney in designing their amazing productions while maintaining an exciting work-culture.
In any interaction, whether with a colleague, your boss, or direct reports, your team members, or your customers, you have three choices, each representing one level of interaction, netting either a minus, a zero, or a plus amount of positive feelings and energy. The three levels are:
Don't Care (-)
Business Transaction (0)
Human Connection (+)
For three days, notice and record each human interaction, virtual or F2F, you have.
For each encounter, give a (+), (-), or (0) score based on the descriptions previously provided.
After three days, record the total of your pluses, minuses, and zeros.
Note the percentage of your pluses, so you can watch it and strive to increase it over the following weeks.
For each type of interaction:
- Describe what happened.
- How it made you feel.
- What was the result of that interaction?
- In what ways can we increase the opportunities for a "Plus" type of Human Connections at work?
